My impression is that the risk is that the Internet bring to the rulers to act with populism, eager to curry favor with people.

Mass usually follows certain trends, certain information which are already pre-judged by some diligent reporters shortly (if not the others), without making a personal insight.
Contrary to all that the ruler should be able to look long term, even if unpopular. Piñera naturally ask who is unpopular is nonsense.
